Smart guy in formal wear- vintage

Thanks to Mr T for this intriguing photo showing a rather smart family relaxing. Formal wear for the dude includes surprisingly short shorts for the era - and he looks pretty fit for it.

    You have to understand, Danny, that they were not short shorts but part of a well dressed suit with a white shirt, necktie,knee lenght socks and elegant black or brown shoes. My dad told me that he used to wear this "sunday suit" (version short pants) up to 21 years old. Really nice and smart, is it not?

    Wow - up to 21 years old? It is very smart. Wish we still saw them.And i wish I had more variants of this pic too- but I don't.

    The photo dates from the 1920. However, one can still buy 'Sunday best suits'

    Well, Danny, that the way we were raised in the 40's and 50's.The young lads then were coming of age at 21 and and parents made sure that they didn't get ideas beyond their station.
